Find/Replace Text

Used to search all the text in a DGN file for any sequence of letters and numbers and replace some or all instances of the text with other text. Opens when Find Text is chosen from the Edit menu. The Find and Replace fields remember the last 20 items entered; an auto-complete menu is provided as you type.

Display Text Attributes

Used to display the attributes of a text or multi-line text node element.

Copy/Increment Text

Used to copy and increment a text element that contains numbers.

Copy Enter Data Field

Used to copy the contents of one enter data field to another.

Copy/Increment Enter Data Fields

Used to copy and increment the contents of an enter data field that contains numbers into another enter data field.

Fill In Single Enter-Data Fields

Used to fill in or change an enter data field.

Auto Fill In Enter Data Fields

Used to fill in all empty enter data fields in a view.

Change Case

Used to change the case of a piece of text.

Update All Fields

Used to update all fields in the text elements in the active model or file.

Drop Text

Used to convert the text characters in a text element to the individual elements that are used to draw the characters — lines, line strings, arcs, ellipses, and shapes.

Text Styles

Used to create and modify text styles. Also sets the active text style or, if a style is not active, the active text attributes.

Notes

Setting Description

Place Note

Used to place lines of text with a leader line and arrow, or a callout without a leader.

Place Label

Used to place labels.

Dimensioning

Setting Description

Dimension Linear

Used to dimension the linear distance between two points (length).

Dimension Angular

Used to dimension angles. Each dimension (except the first) is computed from the endpoint of the previous dimension.

Dimension Element

Used to dimension an element (linear or circular).

Dimension Ordinates

Used to label distances along an axis from an origin (datum) along the ordinate axis (the line along which the distances are measured).

Change Dimension

Used to change a dimension element to the active dimension attributes.

Match Dimension Attributes

Used to set the active dimension settings to the dimension attributes of a dimension element.

Drop Dimension Element

Used to break up a dimension element(s) into lines, line strings, ellipses, arcs, and text.

Reassociate Dimensions

Used to reassociate a linear or radial dimension to an element.

Insert Dimension

Used to add an extension line to a dimension element.

Remove Dimension

Used to remove an extension line from a dimension element.

Dimension Audit

Used to search all the dimensions in the active model and report any problems.

Dimension Styles

Used to create and modify dimension styles. Also sets the active dimension style (or, if a style is not active, the active dimension settings).
c

Element Dimensioning

Used to dimension an element (linear or circular).

Place Center Mark tool

Used to place a center mark at the center of a circle or arc.

Table

Setting Description

Place Table

Used to place a table in the model.

Detailing

Setting Description

Place Section Callout

Used to place a section callout and, optionally, create a saved view and automate dynamic views.

Place Detail Callout

Used to place a detail callout and, optionally, create a saved view and automate dynamic views.

Place Elevation Callout

Used to place a single elevation callout or an interior elevation callout.

Place Plan Callout

Used to place a plan callout and optionally, create a saved view and automating dynamic views.

Place Drawing Boundary

Used to place a drawing boundary in a model.

Cloud By Points

Used to place a revision cloud.

Cloud By Element

Used to create a revision cloud by modifying or copying an existing element.

Detailing Symbol Styles

Used to create and modify detailing symbol stylesdetailing symbol styles.

Cells

Setting Description

Place Active Cell

Used to place the Active Cell.

Place Active Cell Matrix

Used to place a matrix of the Active Cell.

Replace Cells

Used to replace single or multiple cells in a model, or to update cells in a model, with cells of the same name from the active cell library.

Select and Place Cell

Used to select a cell in the DGN file and place an additional instance(s) of that cell.

Define Cell Origin

Used to define the cell origin (the point about which the cell is placed).

Place Active Line Terminator

Used to place the Active Line Terminator cell on a line, line string, arc, or complex chain, primarily to place arrowheads. The line terminator maintains association with the element on which it is placed. Thus, if you move or rotate the element, the line terminator moves or rotates along with the element.

Place Cell Index

Used to create and place a cell index. A cell index contains all of the models in the active DGN file that are marked as “Can be placed as cell.”

Cell Selector

Selecting a cell library from the Select Cell Library to Load dialog opens the Cell Selector dialog, which is used to find and place cells.

Identify Cell

Used to display the name and level of a cell in the design.

Cells

Used to attach cell libraries and activate different types of cells, and to create, delete, and rename cells in the attached cell library, if one is attached.

Patterns

Setting Description

Hatch Area

Crosshatch Area

Used to crosshatch an area. Elements used to define the area to be crosshatched can be in the active model, or in references.

Pattern Area

Used to pattern an area by tiling the active pattern cell or AutoCAD pattern. Elements used to define the area to be patterned can be in the active file, or in references.
